Would not go back. Food over priced for what it is, had same or better at 2 for £12 restaurants. Said yes to the free water but it never turned up. Thought I would push the boat out and have the £21 rib eye steak and chips. Steak had gristle in it (not sure if it is supposed to or not) and didn't taste any different to my partners £13 steak and chips. Asked if I wanted sauces with the steak and only found out by accident they were all additional charges, very naughty. Of the 8-10 chips served in a very small bowl, several of them had rotten parts that I had to cut out. The two seater table was next to chimney but on the side that makes you feel closed in and cut off from the rest of the restaurant, should of been put on the other side. The tiger prawns were very tough and leathery .The sharing desert platter was served on a piece of slate and and was predominately made up of definitely cold deserts e.g. cheese cake and cake with ice cream. What they didn't tell you was that out of the 6 or seven desserts, one of them which looked like a brownie was hotter than the sun which you only find out by taking a bite from it. One lager, one lemonade, asparagus, 1 skewer of 4 small Tiger prawns, two steak and chips and platter of dessert came to £60. 1 of the three stars is just for service, the waitress was lovely.

My wife and I went to this pub last Sunday, we are vegetarian. I went to the bar to order the platter of mezze, and two nut roast. A Very grumpy old man took the order, not a smile not a thank you, barely any eye contact...I could not believe it but decided that I would not spoil my lunch.... The same man told me that they had no nut roast but a mushroom and brie stroganoff. I said that it was fine and we wanted it. The mezzo platter was really nice, overpriced but nice. There was a bit of hummus and some tzatsiki along with some flat bread. Very tasty. Then came the mushroom stroganoff : nicely presented, with some very tough kale and red cabbage... Did they have leftovers from Xmas? The stroganoff was really nice but we barely had any and here's is why. We kept tasting that very nice gravy. It was not really a gravy more like a nice jus that has been reduced. We awarded suspecting that it was not made with vegetable stock at all but meat. A young Waiter came with some mini gravy jugs fully of onion gravy, which raised the alarm. We had just smothered our meal with meat gravy and eaten some. So we asked about this gravy and the waiter said to us ah yes sorry it is the second theme it happens today I will get the manager. The manager was extremely nice and apologetic but according to him, he checked with the chef and we did not get served meat gravy. How can a young lad make up such a lie then? The original vegetarian option came with onion gravy be a use onion is the only way to bring more flavours to vegetable stock. And there is no way a restaurant makes two veggie gravies. The meat dishes were served the exact same little saucepans of gravy. This is absolutely unacceptable, lying to us is even worse. Nevertheless I have to acknowledge that we did not pay a penny towards our drinks and starter. VEGETARIANS BEWARE.
